MEET THE TEAM

Executive Board

The NSS President, Vice Presidents, and Senator work together to oversee all of the Society’s operations over a one-year term. During the 2020 year, President Troiani, Vice President – University Affairs Schoular, Vice President – Operations Wang, & Senator Kaplan look forward to investing in the NSS’ professional development, as well as expanding its ability to engage nursing students.

Alex Troiani

President

The President works to ensure that Assembly members carry out their duties and sets the agenda for NSS Assembly meetings. Julia represents the NSS at the President’s Caucus meetings of the AMS, sits on the NSS Operations Committee,along with the Tricolour Awards Committee. In addition, she also attends the scheduled meetings of the School of Nursing Academic Council (SONAC) and the Health Sciences Faculty Board.

Deborah Wang

Vice President of Operations

The Vice President of Operations acts as a liason between the NSS and Queen’s University. Deborah is responsible for the funds of the NSS, and oversees all financial transactions of the NSS committees. She ensures that all agendas and minutes from NSS Assembly meetings are posted on the website.

Victoria Schoular

Vice President of University Affairs

The Vice President of University Affairs maintains contact with representatives of the AMS assembly, and informs the NSS members of AMS activities, events and posting. Victoria sits on the March Break Open House Committee, the Orientation Committee, and acts as the Returning Officer in elections.

Elias Kaplan

Senator

The Senator attends Queen’s University Senate meetings as a representative of nursing students. Alex reports pertinent information regarding University affairs from Queen’s Senate meets to the NSS Assembly. He also maintains and amends the NSS constitution as needed.

Together with Remi Grnak, Amy works to maintain communication between Queens’ Nursing students and the CNSA. She acts as the official NSS Delegate att eh CNSA National and Regional Conferences.

Together with Amy Rowe, Remi works to maintain communication between Queen’s Nursing students and the CNSA. She acts as the associate NSS delegate at the National and Regional Conferences.
